Hot Cast Elastomers
Hot cast elastomers are high-performance elastomeric materials produced by mixing liquid polymer components at elevated temperatures and casting them into molds, where they cure to form durable rubber-like products. Most hot cast elastomers are polyurethane elastomers, valued for their exceptional abrasion resistance, load-bearing capacity, and mechanical strength.
Composition
Hot cast polyurethane elastomers are typically made from three primary components:
Polyol – Forms the polymer backbone.
Diisocyanate – Reacts with the polyol to form polyurethane.
